The Hyakudan Kaidan, a tangible cultural asset of Tokyo, are worth a visit at any time of the year. But throw in the Hinamatsuri (doll's festival) doll's display and the result is borderline other-worldly. On each floor of the hyakudan they have traditional Japanese hina dolls on display. They range in size and antiquity. Even if you have been to the doll's festival at Gajoen before, there is always a reason to go back as each year they display dolls from different regions of Japan.

The 2020 Hyakudan Hinamatsuri is on from the 24th of January (Friday) to March 15th (Sunday). During this period the exhibition will be on daily from 10 am to 5 pm, with last entry to the Hyakudan at 4.30 pm. This is a very popular exhibit, attracting thousands of visitors each year. It is advised to buy tickets in advance.

Please note that apart from two marked areas, photography is strictly forbidden during the period of the Hinamatsuri.
