The Kansai region has been home to Japanese sake culture since ancient times. The birthplace of sake is regarded as what is modern-day Nara Prefecture, and other prefectures like Kyoto and Hyogo are home to some of the best sake breweries in the country. The Osaka-jo Sake Square event is designed to revitalize the sake scene in this part of the country, and the event will include over 60 breweries from across the Kansai region to check out.
In addition to the sake varieties on offer, there will also be a number of food booths selling festival favorites like takoyaki and fried chicken.
If you do plan on attending, please note that the event hours differ slightly on each day:
- Saturday, September 23: 11:00-19:00
- Sunday, September 24: 11:00-18:30
Last orders for food and drinks are taken 30 minutes before the event finishing time.
