Discovered Japanese Landscapes 2021

A trip to the beautiful Meiji era

From September 7th (Friday) to October 31st (Sunday), the National Museum of Modern Art will host an exhibition focused on artworks depicting Japan from the Meiji era. More than 200 oil paintings and watercolors by Japanese and international painters will be included in three specific chapters: "Visiting Japan in the Meiji era," "Seeing people's lives," and "Filled with flowers".

Admission to the event is priced at 1200 yen for adults, 500 yen for university students, and free for high-school aged students and below.

The Museum of Modern Art Kyoto (MoMAK) can be accessed via bus from Kyoto Station. Take the Kyoto City Bus No. 5 (toward Ginkakuji Temple Via Heian-jingu Shrine), and alight at the “Okazaki Koen/Bijutsukan,Heian Jingu-mae” stop.

For those who plan to drive, there is no dedicated parking lot at the museum. Patrons are advised to park at the nearby underground Okazaki-koen Parking Lot. A parking discount of 200 yen can be provided from the museum on presentation of your ticket.
