Tea Festival CHAKOBA is the largest Japanese tea festival on the Chita Peninsula, and the event will take place this November at the historic Handa Red Brick Building in Handa City, Aichi Prefecture. This festival brings together over 50 exhibitors from across Japan, including tea farmers, confectioners, utensil artisans, and tea masters, for a full day dedicated to the art and culture of tea.

Visitors can sample and compare regional varieties like sencha, kamairicha, wakocha, and white tea, while talking directly with the producers. The Tea Marche will feature both traditional and creative Japanese sweets, alongside exhibitions exploring Aichi's deep-rooted tea history. Additionally, a special display of tea boxes made from Shizuoka's Tenryu cedar and a matcha stand by Nishio's Akahori Tea Factory will immerse guests in the aroma and atmosphere of tea cultivation.

One of this year's highlights is the "Fashion Tea Market – Ocha Move Circuit," a series of experimental tea ceremonies that reinterpret the tea experience through modern sensibilities. Participants can explore diverse approaches, from tea-based cocktails to the Hojicha One Grand Prix, where five varieties of roasted tea are compared. Tokyo-based SHIKI JAPANESE TEA will also make its Aichi debut, offering personalized tea and latte experiences tailored to individual tastes.

With free admission (and a 500 JPY tasting pass available on-site), Tea Festival CHAKOBA invites visitors to discover both the present and future of Japanese tea.
