Watanabe Shotei Exhibition 2021

Brilliant birds, captivating flowers

장소: Tokyo University of the Arts Museum 언제: Mar 27th - May 23rd 2021

A special exhibition taking place at the Tokyo University of the Arts Museum looks at the works of Watanabe Shotei (1851-1918), a Japanese artist who was famous for his works in the Nihonga genre. He was the first Japanese painter to travel to France in 1878, and he lived there for three years in order to study Western painting.

This exhibition will focus on his works that depict birds and flowers, including the likes of "Birds on a Branch" (1887) and "Peony with butterflies" (1893).

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1700 yen, and no advance reservations are required.
