Fireworks are one of the hallmarks of summer in Japan, but they do need a significant amount of space to be set off. The digital art collective NAKED are remedying this with a projection mapping fireworks event in late August.
The NAKED Fireworks event will take place at Gotanda Fureai Mizube Square, with projection mapped fireworks dan area where traditional ones would be difficult to set off. There will be various types of projection mapped fireworks at the event, including chrysanthemum, waterfall, and thousand rings styles.
There will also be vendors selling food and drink at the event, adding to that summer matsuri feel – so bring some yen if you plan on grabbing a bite to eat.
