Nankinmachi, Kobe's Chinatown, is a great place to take in the Chinese New Year in Hyogo Prefecture. The neighborhood is even more vibrant that usual with the additional decorations for the holiday. The festivities usually encompass eight days in January or February and include a number of special events and attractions, not least of which is traditional Chinese folk dances.
