Shingen Takeda selected this temple as one of the Kofu Go-zan - five premier temples at the foot of Kofu's Northern mountains that were under his patronage. The others are Hosen-ji, Toko-ji, Enko-in, and Chozen-ji. While the temple is not large, and is less impressive than the other Gozan temples, Nojo-ji is included on a walking trail that includes Takeda Shrine and the Kofu Gozan temples. There are maps at all the points of interest along the way to keep you on track.
