The Impossible Project Space

If you thought the Polaroid camera is dead and gone you couldn’t be more wrong. It lives on though now under a different name: the Impossible Project. Founded by the best former employees of the Polaroid Company, the Impossible project was created with the purpose of keeping instant film alive and named so as it was believed to be an impossible dream. These former members of staff bought the remaining factory that produced instant film and since 2008 have kept it alive and strong. Though of course American based, the Impossible Project has it's own space in Tokyo. Located near the cafes in Nakameguro, and close to the chic shopping district of Daikanyama, the stylish building is divided into both a shop and gallery space. Many famous Japanese photographers have exhibited here with work produced using their instant film. For anyone of the Polaroid generation it’s a must see.
