The Sanriku Coast stretches from Miyagi in the south to Aomori in the north. A lot of it is made of jagged cliffs and sharp rocks but some of it is also made of beautiful beaches. With this much variety of landscapes it's sure to please everyone. The best way to explore it is via Route 45. It starts in Sendai, Miyagi and goes all the way past Hachinohe in Aomori. Don't forget to enjoy the excellent seafood along the way.
