After a long day of touring temples in Kyoto, have a break and drop by the Nishijin Textile Center. The building is centrally located in the textile district. They are known to make wonderfully-made kimono, from fashionably stylish to simply elegant classic designs. Kimono are sold here for all ages and they can also customize special designs based on your taste. They are quite pricey though because the fabrics are carefully picked. The kimono are distinctively designed and of very good quality. You can also rent kimono here if you just simply want a photo souvenir of yourself wearing it and experiencing how to be Japanese for a day. If you're lucky, you can catch a fashion show that runs occasionally.
