매년 일본 어린이들은 7월 7일에 열리는 타나바타라는 축제를 위해 색종이에 소원을 써서 대나무 가지에 장식한다. 고다이지 행사에 참석하는 유치원들과 학교들이 장식한 많은 대나무 가지들이 선사의 주차장에 전시되어 있는데, 매우 예쁘고 축제적인 분위기를 낸다. 입장료를 내고 절의 아름다운 정원을 둘러볼 시간이 있으시다면, 절대 후회하지 않으실거다.
